In our reading group, my group was assigned a text where we had to read it and complete the answers.
How To Be Normal text - ANSWERS.
Charley smacked into Michaela’s desk. (Michaela is a protagonist)
The main purpose of this paragraph is to set the scene and immerse the reader into the story, and what this paragraph tells us about Charley is that she’s a person that is trying to detach herself from habits she does not like. (Charley is the main character)
The impression that the author gives about Charley is that she appears to be a very isolated and secretive person.
I think that Charley is angry with Amy because Amy had no right to enter the situation. (Amy is another protagonist that comes into the story about halfway through)
Angry, secretive, isolated, introvert
Definitions of screeches, apologise, and introvert
Screeches: a verb used to describe a loud sound that car tires often make when locking up the tires or drifting around a corner. (TCS DRIFT)
Apologise: a word used to describe saying “sorry” to someone.
Introvert: someone that gets energy from being by themselves, and doesn’t rather company.
Putting three versions of They into the story.
They’re at the park.
The tornado is over there!
No, it’s their turn.
I think we were assigned this work because our main topic for this Hurumanu is outstanding, and Amy was sort of being an outstander. That’s the best I can think of.
Adjectives work:
Apologetic
Drifting
Careful
Busy
Bright
Calm
Blue
Perfect
Huge
Fantastic
Those are all adjectives that are in the story.
