Mentos and Coke experiment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Aim:

I want to find out what happens when you drop mentos into coke.

Research

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBq3f5nRr5U

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4MLPkTrOq4

Method:

Equipment

Coke bottle (no sugar) (size optional)

Pack of mint mentos, optional size (The more size, the more craziness!)

Towel (paper or not is optional)

Detergent

You could either use coke no sugar or sprite.

Remember, if it's a big pack of mentos, it has to be a big bottle of coke.

Instructions

1. get your equipment

2. put on your safety glasses

3. pour some coke into test tube or cup

4. place a towel under the cup

5. place the mentos into the test tube or cup

6. observe

Results

In the coke bottle, the surface of the mentos is rough, and that allows the bonds between the carbon dioxide gases and the coke, to break easier, helping the creation of carbon dioxide bubbles as the surface of the lolly is dissipating into the coke while the coke is busy fizzing about. Because the mentos are rather dense and collect moisture, they sink through the coke while dissipating and becoming a part of the coke which triggers a large bubble build up.

This was also the last science period until term 4, I'll miss you mr stock
