Term 3 Calendar Art!

This term in Punui O Toka we have been doing calendar art. I was in the dot art group, and it was very fun. I'll explain how it went down. First, you had a sheet of paper with some circles already on it and you had to color them by putting your cotton bud(s) in some paint and dab it on.

Once we did that, we moved onto our plan the next week and had to draw our lines indicating where the dots would be. Once we did that, we had a piece of black paper and copied your plan, drawing in pencil where your dots were going to be, yet again.

When we were done, we had to do basically the same thing we did with our first draft, put the cotton buds in the paint (lightly!) and then dab it on the paper over our lines. It was easy and hard at the same time, you had to be very patient and precise. What I found easy was putting the paint perfectly on the lines. What I found hard was being patient and how the cotton bud you were using always left a faded spot in the middle after a few times. As shown below.

Have a happy holiday!

  1. Hey Tyler! I really like your dot art I like that it is really colourful and I was wondering what the 21 stands for does it stand for 2021?
